Mrs. Callens grew up splitting her time between Western Montana and Washington state. She attended college at Texas Christian University where she earned her degree in General Engineering with a mechanical and aerospace focus. She began her engineering career working for Bell Helicopter in departments ranging from readiness and sustainability to hands on pilot training and simulation. She continued working in engineering for a few years diving into specialties involving industrial machinery and RF remote design. In 2013 she decided to take her love of science and design to the classroom and has been teaching at private and parochial schools ever since.
Growing up in the pacific northwest instilled in her a love of the great outdoors and everything that they have to offer, so a year ago she and her husband moved to Salt Lake City. They love to hike, camp and ski year-round, and can often be found adventuring with Bailey, their German Shepherd, at their side.
