Cassie Olson

Strings M.Mu. Manhattan School of Music

Cassie Olson, Cello Faculty and Sectional Teacher, began her performance studies at the University of Utah and continued them at the Manhattan School of Music in New York City, earning a Masters Degree in Orchestral Cello Performance. She has studied with members of the New York Philharmonic, Utah Symphony, the Moscow Chamber Orchestra, Orpheus Chamber Orchestra and members of the Emerson and American String Quartets.

Cassie is currently Associate Principal Cellist of the Ballet West Orchestra and often performs with the Utah Symphony and Utah Chamber Artists, for various touring artists and for area recording studios. Cassie has had the honor of performing with bands and musicians as varied as Jon Batiste, Hugh Jackman and James Taylor, to Aerosmith and The Beach Boys, to Michael Bublé, Hans Zimmer and Andrea Boccelli.

A native of Sugar House, Cassie also enjoys snowshoeing, gardening, environmental and social justice advocacy, and being a mom to her little zoo of beloved pets.
