Remote Learning Continues

OUR CAMPUS MAY BE TEMPORARILY CLOSED, BUT YOUR WATERFORD ADMISSIONS JOURNEY CONTINUES.

WELCOME FROM THE DIRECTOR OF ADMISSIONS DURING COVID-19 CLOSURE

I know that considering a private school and completing the admission process during this COVID-19 disruption can feel a bit overwhelming.  Let me reassure you — it does not need to be and we are here to help.

Waterford School has discontinued all on-campus learning.  We've transitioned more than 975 students to synchronous and asynchronous remote learning through the end of this school year.

Until our campus reopens this summer, we are prepared to support and be available to you through a variety of virtual options:

When our campus reopens, we expect to return to business-as-usual and will resume scheduling campus visits and tours.

Waterford inspires individuals to pursue lives of meaning and purpose by providing a world-class liberal arts education that stimulates intellect, ignites passion, and shapes character. This is more important today than at any time in our recent history.  I read recently this quote from James Freedman, the former president of Dartmouth College, who maintained that with the liberal arts “we are better able to make sense of the events that either break over us, like a wave, or quietly envelop us before we know it, like a drifting fog. … When the ground seems to shake and shift beneath us, liberal education provides perspective, enabling us to see life steadily and to see it whole.”

This timely reminder to us all that education which uniquely emphasizes critical thinking, collaboration, communication, cross-cultural competency, and creativity — allows our young people to nimbly navigate this moment of global disruption.  Waterford students develop persistence, determination, grit, character and service beyond self through the depth and breath and mastery of the liberal arts.

While I cannot meet you and your family on campus at this time, we are eager to provide all the information that you need to learn more about the amazing experiences that await your child at Waterford School.  We are here to help, eager to connect, and look forward to getting acquainted with your family!

With every good wish,

Todd Winters
Director of Admission & Enrollment Management

While our campus is closed, our Admissions Team remains committed to providing all the information you’ll need to learn more about Waterford School and the many opportunities available for your child.
