National Merit Semifinalists

This year, eight Waterford students were named National Merit Semifinalists.  Seniors Matthew B., Ariane K., Evan L., Colin P., Gabe R., Katie S., Shilp S., and Emma S., all Class of 2020, were recognized in this national scholarship competition. Students earn this recognition through high performance on the Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test (PSAT) in their junior year. These eight students have some work ahead of them: now that they are named Semifinalists, they will complete a thorough scholarship application to vie for a spot as a National Merit Finalist. 

The National Merit Scholarship is one that recognizes academic achievement but also takes into account community participation and leadership ability. Waterford is proud of these students’ accomplishments in and out of the classroom.
