IT Helpdesk Technician

The Waterford School IT Department is seeking a full-time entry level Helpdesk Technician. The Helpdesk Technician will be responsible for providing hardware and software support for faculty, staff, parents, and students. The Helpdesk Technician will diagnose and resolve problems that include but are not limited to technology involving: AV equipment, laptop and desktop computers, TVs and monitors, printers, mobile devices, networking equipment, and assorted online platforms such as G-Suite and Canvas LMS.

The ideal candidate for this position will have strong technical skills and possess the tenets of good customer service: communication, empathy, and patience. This is an entry level position with room for growth and the potential to earn experience in additional areas of computing such as routing and switching, Linux server administration, database management and other enterprise level tools and technologies. 

Ideal Attributes

  • A 2-year technical degree or equivalent experience
  • CompTIA A+ certification
  • Strong familiarity with macOS
  • Google Suite expertise
  • Strong troubleshooting/diagnosing skills
  • Familiarity with Google Admin Console/Chromebooks
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to take direction and work on a team
  • Ability to communicate effectively with people of all ages/technical levels
  • A positive, “can do” attitude
  • A desire to continually learn and improve
  • Ability to lift 20-50 lbs
