The Waterford Fund
Supporting Waterford’s Top Philanthropic Priority
The Waterford Fund is the cornerstone of all fundraising at Waterford – the foundation upon which other fundraising efforts rest. Waterford, like most independent schools, relies on annual, tax-deductible gifts – in addition to tuition – to balance the budget each year and generates revenue that supports core activities, program enrichment, and school development. Tuition covers 94% of the school’s annual operating budget, while gifts to Waterford help cover the remaining 6%.
The Waterford Fund is an ongoing, annual fundraising activity, critical to the School’s operating income. While it does not replace possible capital campaigns, it relieves the burden of fundraising from special events, and provides the funds necessary for the program enhancements and projects needed to maintain Waterford’s level of excellence in education.
Support of The Waterford Fund demonstrates the loyalty, commitment, and generous spirit of our Waterford community. To honor the interests of our donors, we have general categories where donors can designate (not restrict) annual fund gifts to a particular area they find most meaningful.
The Waterford Fund supports our students and faculty through the school’s operating budget. All families are invited to support The Waterford Fund and will receive an initial solicitation each fall and subsequent contacts through our gift year end of June 30, as needed.
All gifts to Waterford School are tax deductible as charitable contributions. Waterford is a not-for-profit organization and is exempt from federal tax under section 501(c) (3) of the IRS Code.
