We are seeking a candidate who is thoroughly prepared to teach full-time music in the Lower School for the 2019-2020 school year. The ideal candidate would be a teacher with 3-5 years of teaching experience and a college degree. An advanced degree is preferred. Waterford supports a traditional elementary music curriculum with an emphasis on choral singing. Kodaly training and certification is valuable. Piano proficiency is required. An ideal candidate will be a dynamic, passionate, and dedicated educator who loves to work with children; have a broad knowledge of children’s choral repertoire; have a talent for creating artistic, inventive, and expressive choral concert programs; and have strong skills and training as a vocal musician. Essential qualities include the ability to develop a healthy rapport with young students, and the ability to embrace the Waterford mission, vision, and values in curriculum, teaching, and membership in the community. Duties include curriculum development, lesson preparation, student assessment, holiday and year-end concerts, and attendance at meetings and selected school events.
