Waterford School has a vibrant dance program, including both during-the-school-day classes and after-school Dance Academy classes. The responsibilities for the advertised Dance Teacher position would include teaching in the Lower school, the Upper school, and in the after-school Dance Academy. The ideal candidate would be a teacher with 3-5 years of teaching experience and a college degree. Essential training and skills include advanced level Ballet and Modern dance training with the ability to clearly demonstrate technique, experience in teaching the wide range of ages in the school, ability to design age appropriate progressions, and strong classroom management skills. The successful candidate will be able to develop a healthy rapport with students from all divisions of the school, and will embrace Waterford School’s mission, vision, and values in curriculum, teaching, and membership in the community. Duties include curriculum development, lesson preparation, student assessment, various dance performances for parents, and attendance at meetings and selected school events.
