Tina Monosson

Director of LS Tutoring

Tina Monosson is originally from New York, but has lived in Utah for over 20 years. Her family was drawn to Utah for its wonderful outdoor lifestyle and family-friendly environment. Tina holds a BS in Social Science with a minor in Elementary Education. She has completed several post-baccalaureate classes in special education and speech-language disorders at Utah State University. Prior to working with the Waterford School, Tina worked at the Waterford Institute under the direction of Dusty Heuston for over 7 years. Tina is a certified Wilson Dyslexia Practitioner through the University of Utah Reading Clinic, and holds a Level 1 certification from the Wilson Language Academy. In addition, she is certified in both the Orton Gillingham and Spire reading programs. She is recently  certified in administering DIBELS reading screening.

Working closely with the Admissions Committee, Tina meets with prospective students to evaluate their literacy skills and readiness as part of the application process to the Waterford School. Tina has been a parent with children at Waterford and in the tutoring program, and has witnessed first hand the positive impact it has had on her own children and students within the program. She is privileged to be part of the Waterford School.
