Ruth Harvey earned a BS in Math/Physics and Philosophy from Utah State University in 1987, and continued to a MS and PhD from University of Wisconsin-Madison College of Engineering in the Materials Science Program in 1995.
In 1997, her family returned to Utah with two children in tow and added a third soon after. She focused on being a mother. As the children got older, and volunteer opportunities grew more scarce at their schools, Ruth started looking for an opportunity to use her education and her enjoyment of children. Having tutored neighbors, family, and at a tutoring center, she joined Waterford as a Math and Science tutor in 2012, working with Lower, Middle, and Upper School students on topics from counting to calculus, physics, and chemistry.
