She loves mathematics and thinks doing math with teenagers is one of the best ways you can spend a day.

Jessie also enjoys thinking about math with other teachers, and has spent the last several years working with the 8×8 Teacher Leader Project to create and implement professional development for math teachers across Utah focused on using the 8 Effective Mathematical Teaching Practices to ensure student proficiency with the 8 Mathematical Practice Standards.

Jessie lives in Sandy with her husband, Michael, their son, Henry, and their two dogs, Daniel and Benjamin. They all consider Sandy, Utah, to be the bee’s knees and are so grateful to live and work in such a beautiful place. Together they love to hike and camp in the mountains or in the desert, bicycle across the valley or in the canyons, travel to national parks and do road trips across the western states, hit outdoor concerts and farmer’s markets, and hang out with family. Utah is the place!
