Heather Miller is a graduate from Brigham Young University where she earned a B.S. in Physical Education Teaching/Coaching (K-12) with a minor in History Teaching. Before coming to Waterford, she taught Elementary PE in the Granite School District for 7 years at Hunter Elementary and Roosevelt Elementary. While teaching, she received endorsements in Health and ESL. Her love of teaching increased with that experience and she takes great joy in helping students discover a love for exercise and finding as many activities to keep them active as possible. In 2016, she was awarded Elementary Physical Educator of the Year through the Utah Alliance for Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance. She believes in being an advocate for her profession and enjoys being physically active and playing sports. In her free time, she hikes, paddle boards, snowboards, plays a variety of sports, and constantly looks for new adventures to embark on. One of her favorite adventures was going to 5 National Parks in 8 days. Although she’ll always be a Colorado country girl, she’s learning to love all that the Utah Mountains have to offer!
