Bob Capener

Science M.B.A. Brigham Young University | B.S. Cornell University

Bob Capener returns to Waterford as a physics teacher after an 11 year hiatus.  He first joined Waterford in 1983 as the Upper School Dean, math teacher, and soccer coach.  During the next 27 years he added physics teaching and lacrosse coaching to that mix. Also during that time he married Peggy. They raised 5 children and now count 5 grandchildren.

Bob grew up in Upstate New York, at the south end of Cayuga Lake, home to Cornell University, where his father was a professor.  He ended up earning a B.S. degree in civil engineering at Cornell, but claims his bigger interest in attending was playing both soccer and lacrosse on it’s nationally ranked teams.

Bob’s enduring interest in athletics manifests itself now in the mountains of the Wasatch Front, where he enjoys mountain biking and backcountry skiing with dog Joey, his adult kids, and any friends that he can still keep up with.
