Annor Benson

Annor gained valuable experience tutoring humanities at Waterford for two years before moving into the classroom to teach Class VII Ancient History and US History in upper school.  Before moving to Utah, she spent 10 years in the classroom as a history teacher creating and teaching the International Baccalaureate program at Capital High School in Olympia, WA and the AP program at Bothell High School, where she also served two years as one of the high school librarians. While teaching in the public schools there, she earned the rigorous National Board for Professional Teaching Standards certification in Social Studies. Annor holds a BA in History and Secondary Education from the University of Northern Colorado as well a Library/Media Endorsement from the University of Washington and currently holds a Washington State teaching certificate with extended coursework emphasizing reading and media literacy and executive function. Upon moving to Utah, she learned to ski, which she loves more than she is skilled, and  began to study TaeKwonDo and tactical self-defense in which she earned her fourth degree black belt June 2022. She has a daughter who loves lower school and her son graduated from Waterford.
