Alexander Gustafsson, Specialty Teacher: Chess, Alexander has been a specialty teacher at Waterford School since 2018, and has been teaching online, in schools and homes with student ages ranging from 4 to 85 years old since 2012. He has trained hundreds of students, many of whom went on to compete in local competitions with great success. As well as being a full-time Chess instructor, Alexander rigorously studies Chess games played by the great players of past and modern eras, regularly competes in online, state and national Chess competitions and has over 100 first prize victories under his belt. In the United States Chess Federation he holds the titles of Expert and Candidate Master. Having been in the top 5 active Chess players in Utah for many years he is currently ranked #3.
