Waterford School seeks a full time Middle School Latin Teacher. Latin is a required course over the three years of Waterford’s Middle School. The curricular expectation is that training in Latin through the Middle School years will provide a solid foundation for modern language learning and a rich understanding of classical culture, and that it will also facilitate student learning in English and the sciences. Waterford is looking for a teacher who can join an established Middle School Latin program and work well with colleagues to sustain and develop the program into the future.
The ideal candidate would hold an advanced degree in Classics or a related Humanities field, with substantial training in Latin, and would have 2+ years of relevant teaching experience. A full-time course load entails full teaching responsibility for up to five courses, each meeting for seventy-five minutes, two or three times a week
