Waterford visual artists and creative writers recently received 131 awards at the regional level of the 2018 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards.

Congratulations to our very talented students for another outstanding showing at the regional level of the 2018 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards — the oldest and most prestigious program in the country. Our region includes Alaska, Montana, Utah, Wyoming, Oregon, and Washington. In the Visual Arts, there were 111 regional awards received by Waterford students. These awards were received in drawing and painting, ceramics, and photography

Gold Key: 18
Silver Key: 30
Honorable Mention: 63
Total Awards: 111

Our creative writing students impressively received 20 awards, including:

Gold Key: 2
Silver Key: 9
Honorable Mention: 9
Total Awards: 20

All Gold Key winners advance to the National competition; we are now eagerly awaiting these results, which will be announced in mid-March. Seniors whose portfolios win the top National award receive a $10,000 scholarship. Please click here to see a gallery of the Gold Key winners.
