Update on Admissions and Enrollment

We are deeply appreciative of the ongoing advocacy and support for our admissions and outreach efforts. The School’s enrollment is healthy due, in part, to the work of our Parent Ambassadors in their admissions outreach and support of new families in their journey to Waterford. More broadly, each and every Waterford parent is an Ambassador and we are grateful for those of you who share your “Waterford Story” with prospective families. As a result, we continue to welcome remarkable new families who add so much to the fabric of the Waterford community.

The re-enrollment of returning students is at an all-time high. New student enrollment also continues to climb: we project adding between 150-160 new students before opening day this fall. This will bring our enrollment for 2018-19 to approximately 950 students. We presently have waiting lists in multiple classes, with several other sections near capacity. In fact, the Upper School enrollment will reach an all-time high of 335 students.

Lastly, to accommodate the robust re-enrollment from Class VIII to Class IX (in addition to the large number of qualified candidates joining Class IX), the School recently added a fifth section; we project that Class IX will open in the fall with 95 students, making it the largest class in the history of Waterford School!

The School continues to enjoy phenomenal reach and many of the new families seeking admission to Waterford are newcomers to the Wasatch Front. Waterford School continues to attract families who seek a high quality liberal arts education, academic and teaching excellence, and a nurturing and supportive community.
