Class I students created Book Boxes during their specialist block in art prior to the Winter Break. Ms. Durst, Lower School art specialist, noted that the Book Box project starts with “the end in mind”. Each student visualized how their Book Box would look at completion. The artists created a plan that would help manage the creative process, and presented this plan of work to Ms. Durst before proceeding with their project.

The Book Boxes employ six different artistic techniques to create these final works of art, including clay sculpting, acrylic paint, hand tinting and decoupage. The end results are amazing.
