This year, 18 Waterford students were named National Merit Semifinalists. Seniors Maggie A., Cooper B., Jema D., Declan D., Connor G., Rose H., Keean K., Jack K., Joclyn N., Aiden P., Kiran R., Max R., Logan S., Sahil S., Lisa S., Cooper S., Sierra S. and Clayton W., all members of the Class of 2025, were recognized in this national scholarship competition. Students earn this recognition through high performance on the Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test (PSAT) in their junior year. These 18 students have some work ahead of them—now that they are named Semifinalists, they will complete a thorough scholarship application to vie for a spot as a National Merit Finalist.

The National Merit Scholarship is one that recognizes academic achievement but also takes into account community participation and leadership ability. Waterford is proud of these students and all they have accomplished inside and outside of the classroom.
