13 Waterford students were accepted into the OAKE national choirs.

All 13 Waterford students who auditioned for the OAKE (Organization of Kodály Educators) National Choirs were accepted. There were about 650 students who auditioned from around the country to participate.

According to the OAKE website, "The OAKE National Conference Choirs is a high-quality performance program featured at the annual OAKE National Conference. Held in a different city each year, the National Conference brings together well-known clinicians, educators, conductors, and entertainment over the course of four days culminating in the Saturday performance of the students who have been selected to participate in the National Conference Choirs."

Participating Waterford students will go to Philadelphia March 22-25, 2017 to be a part of the OAKE National Conference.

"These students not only exhibit strong musicianship but also responsibility. This is an honor," says Michele Starcher, Lower School music specialist.
