Thank you for your interest in shadow visits,we are completely booked for the remainder of the season.
A Window into the World of Waterford
Shadow visits are a great way for an applicant to experience Waterford. A half-day or full-day visit will give an applicant a window into the world of a Waterford student. Applicants for admission will get an up-close and personal view into the Waterford student community, the nature of the classroom, the student-teacher relationship, and experience first-hand opportunities to jump into a science experiment, draw, sketch, paint, dance, or play in the Orchestra. A shadow visit is one of the best ways to see if Waterford is the right fit.
You’ll arrive at the admissions office lobby at 8:25 a.m. You will be assigned your own Student Ambassador who will greet you and off you’ll go to the first class of the day. You’ll move through a typical day-long schedule to experience a “day in the life” as a Waterford student. Your lunch will be provided in the Dining Hall as a part of the visit experience. Lastly, you’ll end the day back in the admissions office at 3:30 p.m. for a short debrief Q&A with a member of the admissions team.
Waterford is situated on a 41-acre campus with 10 buildings, so be prepared to get outside and enjoy our picturesque campus! On the morning of your shadow visit, remember to dress comfortably and in a manner that shows you’re ready to learn and engage with us. Additionally, if you are visiting during the winter months, it’s a good idea to bring a warm jacket as you’ll navigate the outdoor spaces while moving from building to building throughout the day. Bring a notebook and pen to take notes and make observations of your day, and feel free to bring a water bottle and/or snack.
Please note: Waterford students and visitors are not allowed to use cell phones during class. We recommend that you leave it at home or in your backpack for the day.
