Waterford Chess Team: Lower Schools - 3:30 PM- 4:30 PM (Room 131)

This is the first competitive season of the new Waterford Chess Team. Any LS student with a basic knowledge of the game and an interest in playing competitive chess is invited. Preference will be given to Classes III-V. The season will consist of seven weeks of instruction on Mondays or Wednesdays (yet to be determined), with the aim of participation in up to four tournaments. Kristin South, is the Waterford Chess Coordinator.

After School Group Piano Class - 3:20 PM- 4:00 PM (LS Piano Lab)

Jay Beck and Michele Starcher are offering after school group piano lessons for Class III - V students. Classes will be every Tuesday and Thursday from 3:20 - 4:00 beginning Thursday, Jan. 6 and ending Tuesday, April 23. See Link for Registration on MyWaterford.

Parents are asked to spend time reading with their children this evening. There will be no additional homework given.

US Trip to Hear Sonia Sotomayor - Hunstman Center - 10:30 AM- 2:00 PM (Huntsman Center)

Students will leave campus to board buses after the morning Assembly and will return to campus about 2:00 p.m.

Class V Robotics: Utah FIRST LEGO League - 7:00 AM- 4:30 PM (University of Utah)

Utah FIRST LEGO League is a robotics and innovation program for kids ages 9-14. Participants build LEGO robots, prepare scientific presentations and learn teamwork. The Waterford Class V Student Team has advanced to the Championship Event. The robot game and judging is from 9:15 to 3:30 with the awards ceremony at 4:00 p.m. This event is open and free to the public.

MS Outdoor: Winter Activity - 9:00 AM- 4:00 PM (Park City Area)

Class VII and VIII students are encouraged to join the Outdoor Program for a day of nordic skiing and sledding in Park City. No experience is necessary. Contact Mr. Watkins for an application form and more information. Applications are due by 3:30 on Wednesday, January 27st. We will depart by bus from Waterford at 9:00 a.m., returning by 4:00 p.m.
