Additional Fees

Individualized courses and miscellaneous expenses vary. The following gives an approximate range of additional costs:

Lower Schools

  • Books and classroom materials $300 – $375 per year

Middle and Upper School

  • Books and classroom materials $500 – $900 per year
  • Athletics $100+ per sport

The fees above are billed at specific times during the year. Other miscellaneous costs (dining hall charges, extracurricular activities, trips, publications, extended day care, etc.) are billed on a monthly basis. Billing statements are mailed on the fifth day of each month.

Tuition Refund Insurance

The school does not grant refunds for late entrance, absence, withdrawal or dismissal. The obligation of the parent to pay tuition and fees for the entire school year is unconditional. To assist parents in meeting this obligation, we offer the Dewar Tuition Refund Insurance, which is required under the Two Payment and Monthly Plans. It is optional under the One Payment Plan. The cost of this insurance is 2.1% of the annual tuition. Information on the Dewar Tuition Refund Insurance is available through the Admissions Office.
